The Challenge/Brief:

The new state of the art facility will provide the University’s internationally renowned Astbury Centre for Structural Molecular Biology, with instruments for Electron Microscopy and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance that are competitive with the very best in the world.

The new laboratory for Electron Microscopy will be based within the iconic grade II listed Roger Stevens building and the significant investment will transform the current building into an outstanding laboratory. The existing space with high ceilings and sound insulation of the building are to be refurbished provide an ideal home for high end microscopes.
