The honest truth about PASIC

After recently recieving a heart warming true story of a young boy who was sadly diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2008, we thought it would be appropriate to share his story and highlight the important work that the charity PASIC offer.

“My nephew was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2008 when he was just 6. I didn’t realise until then that the treatment for the disease was experimental and patient-specific. He had several different types of Chemotheraphy, each tweaked when it didn’t quite hit the mark. One reaction he had was so bad his skin and finger nails were peeling off. He was such a brave little boy and only occasionally let it get him down. Thankfully, I don’t think he realised the seriousness of what he had but obviously my brother and sister in law were perfectly aware and that’s what made it so hard on them. My brother was distraught when he first found out and it was heart breaking watching him go through it but before long it became a way of life him going backwards and forwards to hospital.

He spoke very highly of PASIC and the support they provided to them as a family and as parents. Just having someone to speak to, to see what was available to them he said was priceless. Part way through his treatment they referred them, via an organisation in Torbay, to an all-expense-paid holiday to Devon for them all. He said it was just what they needed to have a brief respite from what had become a cycle of treatment.

My nephew will be 14 this September and is still in remission 😍”

TIS are delighted to be able to provide financial support to PASIC so that they can continue to help families like the family mentioned above.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff who have donated their time and money for this cause and who will continue to contribute in further events.

We have managed to raise an incredible £838.92 within 3 months but as our charity campaign continues we hope to achieve much more!
