BAFE is an independent third party certification organisation for the fire protection industry. TIS benefits from BAFE certification by showing that we are competent and work to high quality standards on all fire protection systems. TIS are compliant with the requirements of the BAFE adopted scheme SP203-1 for the Design, Installation, Commissioning/Handover and Maintenance of Fire Detection and alarm systems. Audits are carried out through UKAS on an annual basis.
NSI certification provides our customers with the reassurance that we are a reputable, compliant and trusted contractor and have been independently verified as meeting industry standards. NSI operates a two tier approach to approvals, which allows us to grow and develop our business whilst consistently developing the NSI reassurance to our customers:
Silver – designed for ‘Product Certification’ Refers to the ‘Product Certification’ against sector specific standards, e.g. BS7858, BS8243.
Gold – builds on product Certification to incorporate Quality Management System Certification. The combination of the Quality Management Systems and the relevant sector specific product or service represents the Gold standard of certification. This level holds the greatest perceived value across industry and by the police, fire and rescue services and insurers.
TIS are accredited to NSI NACOSS Gold Scheme in respect of the Design, Installation and Maintenance of Electronic Security Systems including Access Control, CCTV Systems and Intruder Alarms in accordance with the relevant standards. TIS also hold NSI Fire Gold Scheme accreditation to cover the Design, Installation, Commissioning and Handover Verification and Maintenance of Fire Detection and Alarm systems in accordance with the relevant standards (listed on our certificates).
TIS have been certified as have having the technical capability to carry out electrical installation work in accordance with the requirements of BS 7671 and are registered for the following schemes. Approved Contractor Scheme, which covers the following: Electricians working on commercial and industrial installations, Electricians working on domestic installations, Electrical installation condition reporting (testing, inspection, PIR’s), Street lighting installers, Security systems installers and any other activity covered by BS 7671.

The FIA is the largest fire protection trade association in the UK with 650+ members with an objective is to promote, improve and perfect fire protection methods, devices, services and apparatus.
The FIA promote and shape legislation and the professional standards of the fire industry through close liaison with government and official bodies, as well as other key stakeholders.
ADS is the premier trade organisation for all companies operating in the UK Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space industries globally and offers TIS information and guidance on a range of subjects.
Safecontractor provides our customers with the reassurance that TIS have been independently vetted and approved for their supplier list, enabling us to provide safe and sustainable services. Safecontractor membership works in the same format as Constructionline, enabling suppliers who specifically require membership to easily access company information of their members.
Being a member of CHAS ensures benefits to both TIS and our customers, it provides the reassurance that we are compliant with the most important parts of Health and Safety law (as described in the CDM regulations). From a buyer/customer’s perspective, assessing suppliers health and safety competence is usually a lengthy and time consuming process. Suppliers can sometimes meet one buyer’s Health and Safety standards but not another. Being CHAS approved reduces duplication as our compliance is accepted by all CHAS buyers.
Our Gate Safe accreditation provides our clients with the comfort that we take our installation, service and maintenance of electric gates very seriously. Although legislation exists along with various British Standards, which provide guidelines on the manufacture and installation of electric gates, the interpretation / awareness of this information can lead to confusion. It is also clear that under current guidelines, there is no formal requirement to undertake any specialist training prior to becoming involved in the specification, supply or installation of powered gates and that the sale of such items is not limited to a list of professional registered organisations. TIS are an approved Gate Safe installer and we have therefore completed their training, we have ongoing guidance to the latest guidance and we maintain our membership annually.
TSA is the nationally recognised Standards Body for the delivery of technology enabled care and support services (Telecare and Telehealth) in the UK. Through our membership with TSA we are able to help, along with 350 other organisations, over 1.7 million people to remain in their own homes rather than in hospitals, respite care or other clinical settings, supported by their families, friends and carers in familiar surroundings. TIS work in conjunction with TSA’s Integrated Code of Practice to provide Technology Enabled Care across health, housing, social care and public services including NHS, Local Authorities, Fire and Rescue Services, Housing Associations and voluntary sector organisations.
Constructionline offers bespoke questionnaires for company information, which is then visible to over 8,000 Constructionline buyers and decision makers, in a similar format as CHAS. Constructionline membership shows that TIS are compliant with and align to industry and government standards and operate in a safe, professional and trusted manner.
As part of our membership to CAI, we were required to undergo an assessment to ensure that TIS can achieve compliant to CAI’s Code of Practice and Conduct which are recognised by broadcasters and Government. Areas of compliance include the following: Abide by and work to standards outlined in the CAI Codes of Practice and British Standards, Continually re-assess to ensure standards are maintained, Use quality tested equipment through the CAI Benchmarking Scheme for Aerials & Cable, CAI Guarantee of 12 months on all domestic installations carried out by a CAI member, Fully insured to cover all aspects of the business, Government recognition with CAI being endorsed as a TrustMark Scheme Operator, CAI Plus Members – a Basic DBS criminal record check has been provided along with certification of competence at Working Safely at Height. These documents must be provided for a minimum of 50% of the installers.
