The new refurbished building will offer students the opportunity to study in an impressive modernised environment including high end studio space, fully equipped workshops, a multi-purpose gallery space for development of curatorial practice and visiting exhibitions plus a large student common room.
By investing in a space for art and culture at the centre of the campus, it will enable the school to continue to increase knowledge and opportunity, and to continue to improve student experience and develop world leading research.
The new building will support the objective to become a leading centre for art, heritage and critical humanities and culture in the UK and will help retain and attract the best research staff and enable them to work more collaboratively to develop new initiatives and funding opportunities.
Project Manager Quotation:
“Extra care had to be taken due to the listed nature of the building. We ensured the character of the building remained and I feel we achieved this using latest technology but respected the history of the building at the same time.”
“TIS are very helpful and supportive whenever I’ve had to contact them for guidance and advice. They have always done their utmost to resolve problems and provide help with our requirements.”
