Kedleston Park is a beautiful, mature parkland course set in peaceful countryside within the grounds of the magnificent Kedleston Hall, a grand 18th century stately home just a few miles northwest of Derby city centre. The Golf Course itself was established and opened its doors in 1946, being one of the first new golf clubs to be established at the end of World War Two.
Kedleston Park has been further developed over the years whilst keeping its original layout. The greens were fully reconstructed in the late 1990’s to the latest USGA’s sand based specification, while a three-year renovation and improvement project to the courses bunkers, mounds and greenside complexes has been made under the expert guidance of Tom Mackenzie, of world-renowned golf course architects, Mackenize and Ebert in preparation for hosting The Open Qualifying from 2018.
The Club has had the honour of hosting many tournaments, and recently were a host venue for Regional Qualifications for The Open from 2018, Kedleston Park is regarded as the number one course in Derbyshire by the ‘Top 100 Golf Courses of the world’. Situated in the heart of England with great links by road, rail and air, the course is laid-out in 155 acres of stunning Derbyshire countryside surrounding the magnificent National Trust property, Kedleston Hall. Facilities include an 18 hole championship golf course set within the Historic Grounds of Kedleston Hall, extensive practice facilities including the newly renovated Scarsdale Short Game area, putting green, chipping area, warm-up nets and a ten acre practice ground with distance markers and target greens, first class hospitality facilities and other activities are offered within the clubhouse such as bridge and snooker.
As a proud host to many prestigious events and Tournaments, including Regional Qualifying for The Open Championship from 2018, the course provides a challenging test for players of all levels. Working closely in partnership with the Golf Club Management team and the Club Captains, listening to their needs, consulting with them during annual visits and throughout the annual renewal process via clarifications we are able to fully understand their needs, aims and objectives. Supporting Kedleston Park in partnership means working carefully and considerately, respecting the planned daily operations and the leisure activities of clients on site.
With a prominent setting overlooking the course and surrounding Derbyshire countryside, the Clubhouse is in the heart of Kedleston Park. The Clubhouse offers first-class hospitality facilities including, a fully licensed bar, air-conditioned restaurant and patio, and as a result we ensure that disruption and noise are kept to a minimum.
Key to our success in this project was our understanding of buildings in full operation on a daily basis with a high level of public traffic on site, due to our extensive portfolio of successful installation, service and maintenance programmes with other clients including The University of Leeds and The Theatre Royal in Nottingham.
Annually the Key account manager conducts a reassessment of Risks on Site, we produce detailed method statements and risk assessments to highlight and identify the main risks, while proposing mitigation methods to reduce the identified risks. At point of award we visited the site and reviewed our initial assessment of the site, including for any additional factors highlighted by the Grounds Maintenance Manager, these were then submitted to the Club for review and approval.
Over the years legislation has evolved and additional factors have been incorporated into the services we offer. We carefully consider our clients privacy, security and safety at all times. Our approach is methodical and identifies a planned schedule of maintenance visits on an annual basis, these are flexible to the needs of the Club, based around their detailed events calendar.
In addition to conducting an annual risk review with the Club, our Key Account Manager continually monitors and maintains the Health and Safety of the site through the repeated application of risk assessments at every maintenance visit and during reactive service requests, our engineers ensure these are held within our secure service and maintenance database.
During reactive service visits and pre-planned preventative maintenance visits our engineers ensure that all egress routes are clear, or if obstructed that appropriate measures are put in place to provide security such as barriers and hi-visibility tape and they ensure that alternative routes and appropriate signage are clearly displayed in well-lit areas.
Supporting the Janus Access Control system, we request bespoke partnership pricing, supporting the Club to meet budgetary constraints while continuing to add value through high quality installation, service and maintenance, led by dedicated account support from our Head Office.
Building our partnership with the Club, our dedicated Account Manager, attends regular contract meetings with key stakeholders, Club Captains, Tournament Organisers, Events Managers and highly valued Club Clients, to ensure excellent customer service levels are received by all.
Working with the Club we ensure that works are completed during daytime hours (08:00 – 17:00 Mon-Fri) and scheduled around events and high profile tournaments within the Golfing community. Our engineers work collaboratively with Club Captains and the management team. Discretion and confidentially are monitored ensuring that clients privacy is maintained at all times, and that where high profile guests are on site they are not disturbed during their visit.
Our health and safety ethos has been and always will be that a tidy site is a safe site, with everyone working to this including we have developed a faultless record of safety with Kedleston Park, resulting in the unbroken renewal of their annual service and maintenance contract with us since 2013.
