TIS are delighted to be part of the redevelopment of the Wedgewood Visitor Experience

Wedgwood in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, has been welcoming visitors to its premises for over 250 years, first in Etruria and since the 1940s, at its garden factory, the Wedgwood Estate, in Barlaston, five miles south of the historic Potteries conurbation.

To ensure that Britain’s premier ceramic manufacturer is fit for the 21st century, a £34 million development programme is now underway at the Wedgwood Estate. Opening in July 2015, the inspirational new complex will combine a modern factory tour, the Wedgwood Museum, a state of the art Visitor Experience including design workshops, and a flagship retail store.

As part of the refurbishment works TIS were invited by Imtech Engineering Services Central who were the appointed Electrical Contractor to design and quote for the installation of IP CCTV and Access Control systems. TIS have worked closely with Imtech and the client to provide a tailored solution for the building which includes ensuring that the cards for the access control system can be utilised for other systems including T&E and vending systems.

Adrian Mee, Lead Designer of the project commented “It’s nice to work on another prestigious project with Imtech, a company with whom we’ve worked on many major projects over the years.”
