Contract Support Assistant – Defence Division

Contract Support Assistant  –  Ref: V118

Location: Mansfield

The Defence Division are seeking a confident and hardworking Contract Support Assistant to become part of the procurement team.

The role involves:
  • Progress chasing of Purchase Orders/Expediting
  • Updating and maintaining the Company’s Approved Supplier database
  • Control and manage Purchase Order returns and non-conformities
  • Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies
  • Maintaining records of invoices
  • Liaising with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive on time
  • Maintaining records of invoicing and match with respective delivery documentation
  • Following up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
  • Maintaining Equipment Shortage Lists
  • Obtaining equipment compliance certificates and information (e.g. ATEX, Datasheets, MSDS etc.)
  • Expediting Orders to schedule.
Key experience/qualifications:


  • Must be competent using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook especially)
  • Business Administration qualification and/or experience
  • Have a keen interest in Procurement activities and Supply Chain Management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You will be a team player with ambition
  • Communicate and build successful working relationships with suppliers and other employees.


  • Knowledge of Electronics Industry
  • Knowledge of Stock Control
  • Previously experience in a purchasing role
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain procedures
  • Knowledge of British Standards relating to quality assurance
  • An awareness of equipment compliance (I.e. ITAR, EAR, ATEX, WEEE, RoHs etc.)
  • An understanding of Import/Export restrictions.

  • Have the ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Manage your time effectively
  • Create and administer a task priority list based on the Divisions needs
  • Work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines
  • Have the desire to learn and continually improve your knowledge

Working hours: Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am – 1.30pm (Permanent)

Salary: Dependant on experience, skills and qualifications
