Mansfield-based TIS, the UK’s leading independent fire, security and communication specialists, won the prestigious ‘Business of the Year’ and ‘Young Appreciate of the Year’ at Mansfield’s 2020 Business Awards 2016 on Friday evening, held at a black tie ball at the John Fretwell Centre in Mansfield.
The great and the good of Mansfield’s business community came together to celebrate the 10th annual awards and acknowledge the achievements of local businesses. The awards recognised 18 categories with the ultimate accolade ‘Business of the Year’ being won by TIS.
Following the win, Managing Director of Combined Services James Twigg said “Entering the competition for the first time, we were aware that the business of the year category was extremely strong. I am so proud of each and every one of our employees; it’s down to our team and ability to work together that helped us win this award”.
James added “entering the awards has been an invaluable way of stepping back and taking the time to critique our business and gain a real understanding of what we are doing well and more importantly areas we can improve on. Having the ‘Business of the Year’ award win under our belt is a fantastic achievement and a great morale boost for the team in recognition of all the hard work they put in – I could not be more proud.”
Not only were TIS crowned ‘Business of the Year’, but their very own apprentice Bradley Clifton was awarded ‘Young Apprentice of the Year’. 22 year-old Bradley was voted in recognition of his dedication, commitment and outstanding contribution to the business over the past 12 months.
“Massive congratulations also go to Bradley Clifton. His achievements in a relatively short time with TIS are nothing short of remarkable and is a reflection of the apprenticeship scheme that the company invest heavily in. To be commissioning integrated security systems at his age is amazing and it is recognised that Bradley has a very bright future ahead of him.” added James.
Celebrating a dual win, TIS are overwhelmed to have received this level of recognition within the community and winning these titles is a huge accolade for the business and a measure of just how far the company has come over the past three years.
Chris Lewis, Managing Director of Military Division said “I am extremely proud of the team as they have all worked so hard to achieve these awards. TIS means such a lot to me and having James on-board has brought a breath of fresh air to company. Here’s to a very promising future…”
TIS have exciting plans for the future and are looking forward to their continued growth.
