Health Care

With more than 2,300 hospitals, employing some 147,00 doctors and 370,000 nurses and an extensive network of associated services, the provision of high quality security and safety services for the UK healthcare sector is of paramount importance.

Hospitals and other healthcare facilities such as GP surgeries, nursing homes and assisted living complexes are by design, relatively open. And as many are large complexes with multiple entrances spread across an extensive area, the challenges faced by security professionals are wide and varied.

Each establishment has its own particular risks and vulnerabilities to consider. These can range from securing high value equipment and controlled drugs to ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff and visitors, both in the buildings themselves and in external areas.

Over the years, TIS has established a successful track record in developing a diverse range of security, communication and fire safety systems for healthcare facilities across the UK.

We are approved contractors to Nottingham City Hospital and the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham and work in partnership with a number of health care operators, including market leaders Bupa.

Our technical team has extensive experience of creating integrated solutions, backed by full technical, engineering and customer support from our offices in Mansfield, Nottingham and Birmingham.

We recently worked on Project Locked with Nottingham City Hospital, which involved providing an access control system to support a baby tagging programme that helps reduce the threat of abduction and upgraded the CCTV in all areas. We also provided CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarms for the Cystic Fibrosis Unit we as part of a £6 million project.

We also worked with the Royal Derby Hospital on the design and installation of a bespoke Tele-Medicine training system which works over the hospital’s IP network and allows surgeons in any one of the 50 plus operating theatres to hold two-way audio and video communication with any one of four portable student training suites.
